Ingredients

  • 4 strips salt pork, cut in 1/4-inch chunks
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 onion
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped small
  • 1 to 2 lb. haddock
  • 1 can minced clams
  • 1 bottle clam juice
  • 1 can evaporated milk and regular milk

Directions

    Saute salt pork and onion in butter until almost golden.

    Add 2 cups hot water, potatoes, fish, clams and clam juice. Boil. Simmer 20 minutes. Take off heat. Add evaporated milk and regular milk to suit your taste.

    Salt and pepper.

    To thicken, make cornstarch paste of 2 tablespoons cornstarch and cold water.
