  • 1 1/2 lb. stew meat
  • carrots
  • large can tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. red cooking wine
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts (optional)
  • quartered potatoes
  • onions
  • scant Tbsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. quick dry tapioca

Directions

    In covered Dutch oven pan, combine meat, potatoes, carrots, onions, tomatoes, salt, sugar, tapioca and red wine.

    Place in 300° oven with lid on for 5 hours.

    Do not stir.
