  • 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour divided
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) Fleischmann's brand active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons solid white vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup tepid water, 120 degrees
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil for sauteeing, extra for drizzling on top
  • 1 small onion, thin sliced
  • olive oil, salt and pepper to taste

Stir mixture until dough pulls away from sides of bowl. Transfer onto cool dry surface and knead about 8 to 10 minutes. If dough is sticky, add flour in small amounts as needed.
