- 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
- 8 egg yolks
- 1/3 cup Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur)
Directions

1Bring first 4 ingredients to boil in heavy medium saucepan.

2Remove from heat.

3Whisk yolks in large bowl to blend.

4Gradually whisk hot cream mixture into yolks.

5Return to pan.

6Stir over medium heat until custard thickens and leaves path on back of spoon when finger is drawn across, about 7 minutes (do not boil).

7Strain into bowl.

8Whisk in liqueur.

9Refrigerate uncovered until cold.

10Process custard in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions.

11Store covered in freezer.
