- 1 (9 inch) pie pastry
- 34 cup sugar
- 14 cup flour
- 12 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 6 cups thinly sliced tart apples (about 6 medium)
- 1 cup flour
- 12 cup firm margarine or 12 cup butter
- 1 12 teaspoons cinnamon
- 12 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Directions

1Heat oven to 425F.

2Prepare pastry for pie.

3In a large bowl mix sugar, flour, nutmeg and cinnamon.

4Stir in apples and mix until apples are coated is sugar mixture and ingredient are all completely moistened.

5Pour apple filling into prepared pie crust.

6Prepare topping:.

7Mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and margarine until well mixed and crumbly.

8Pour onto pie filling.

9Bake for 50 minutes.

10Cover topping with aluminum foil during the last 10-20 minutes of baking.
