  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.

    Add butter and shortening.

    Cut into flour until thoroughly mixed together.

    Beat eggs in large bowl.

    Add milk, then stir in flour mixture.

    Mix to a good consistency.

    Knead as little as possible.

    Pat out on floured board and cut thick.

    Put on baking pan. Bake in a hot oven at 450° for 15 to 17 minutes.

    Makes two dozen.
