Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. 7-bone chuck roast or boneless chuck roast
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 1/4 cup water (add more for larger roast)
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • Salt, pepper and garlic powder

Directions

    Mix all ingredients except the roast and seasonings.

    Brown the roast after seasoning with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Pour soup-wine-water-thyme

    mixture over the roast. Cook covered for 3 hours at 325°. Serve with rice or baked potato.
