- 3 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 loaf day-old Italian bread
- maple syrup
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
- butter or margarine
Directions

1Beat eggs, sugar and nutmeg with a fork until thoroughly blended.

2Add evaporated milk and blend again.

3Slice bread approximately 3/4-inch thick and soak (submerge) each slice for about a minute.

4Fry in butter or margarine at medium heat, taking care not to burn it.

5Serve with butter or margarine and maple syrup.
