- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 c. dates or raisins
- 2 c. nut meats, coarsely chopped
- 5 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine sugar and beaten egg yolks.

2Add 4 tablespoons flour, salt and baking powder. Mix remainder of flour with dates or raisins and nuts. To the batter, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.

3Fold in dates or raisins and nuts.

4Bake in greased and floured pan for 20 minutes at 375°.

5While still warm, cut into squares.

6Roll in granulated sugar.

7Makes 24 squares.
