  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 3 cups Peeled, Chopped Apples
  • 1 cup Chopped Walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

  • FOR THE ICING:
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cups Evaporated Milk

Directions

    Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Add oil, eggs, apples, walnuts, and vanilla; mix very well. Batter will be a little thick. Pour into a lightly greased 9x13 cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes, or until done.

    As cake is coming out of oven, make the icing:

    Melt the butter in a small saucepan; add brown sugar and evaporated milk. Stir well and bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 5 minutes. Pour over the cake while hot. Icing will harden a little as it cools.
