- 3 c. chopped tart apples
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 c. salad oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Prepare apples and nuts.

2Combine oil and sugar.

3Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.

4Sift together salt, soda, baking powder and flour.

5Add gradually.

6The batter will be too stiff to use electric mixer.

7Fold in apples and nuts.

8Pour into 2 deep 9-inch pans or a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

9Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

10The top will be crusty.
