  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. cooking oil
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. apples, chopped (Granny Smith or some other kind of cooking apple)

Directions

    Do not use electric mixer.

    Use large spoon or wooden spoon. Sift dry ingredients together.

    Add apples and nuts.

    Combine sugar and eggs; add oil and mix.

    Add this apple mixture.

    Pour into greased, floured tube pan and bake at 350° for one hour or until cake tester comes out clean.

    Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing.

    Top with Lemon Glaze.
