- 1 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 5 to 6 c. fresh blackberries
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 baked pie shell
Directions

1In a 2 to 3 quart saucepan, combine brown sugar, 2 1/2 cups blackberries and salt over medium heat until berries make sufficient juice, then cook over high heat when mixture comes to full boil.

2Have cornstarch

3dissolved in 1/2 cup water; add to boiling berries, stirring constantly.

4Cook until thick.

5Remove from heat; stir in margarine and lemon juice.

6Cool slightly; fold in 2 cups berries.

7Pour evenly into pie crust.

8Sprinkle remaining fresh berries over top, pressing in lightly.

9When served, top with whipped cream.
