Fried Asparagus

  • 1 lb. fresh asparagus or 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen asparagus spears
  • dash of salt
  • 2 Tbsp. Crisco shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    Wash and trim bottoms of fresh asparagus.

    Cut asparagus in 1/2-inch diagonal slices.

    Melt Crisco in large skillet.

    Saute asparagus for about 5 minutes.

    Add lemon juice, salt and pepper. Serve hot.
