- 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 small head cabbage, shredded
- 1 c. soup stock or 2 bouillon cubes in 1 c. water
- dash of cayenne
Directions

1Melt bacon drippings in heavy pot or Dutch oven.

2Add sliced onion, shredded cabbage and soup stock.

3Cover pot and bring to boil, then simmer for 1/2 hour.

4Serve with cornbread.

5Pass a cruet of cider vinegar with this cabbage.

6Dunk cornbread in the pot likker.
