- 4 or 5 green tomatoes
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cut out stem end of tomatoes and slice 1/2-inch thick.

2Mix salt, pepper and cornmeal in a dish.

3Coat both sides of tomatoes with mixture.

4Heat the butter in a skillet.

5Add tomatoes and brown on both sides.

6Cook until tender.
