- 2 large green tomatoes, firm
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
Directions

1Slice tomatoes in thin slices.

2In bowl, beat egg, then add milk.

3Add flour, salt, pepper and garlic and whip mixture until smooth.

4Melt margarine in heavy skillet over medium-low heat.

5Dip tomatoes, a slice at a time, in batter and place in skillet.

6Fry until brown on both sides.
