  • 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 3 medium sliced green tomatoes, cut 3/4-inch
  • 1/2 c. shortening

Directions

    Salt and pepper tomato slices; dip in cornmeal.

    Heat about 1/2 cup shortening in skillet on top of stove until hot.

    Cook until golden brown on each side.
