  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. milk

Directions

    Wash and dry the tomatoes; slice crosswise to make 3 thick pieces.

    Dust with salt, pepper and a little sugar; roll in fine dry bread crumbs.

    Beat the egg.

    Add the milk.

    Dip the slices in this; dip again in crumbs.

    Deep fry in Mazola, hot enough to brown a piece of bread in 1 minute (350°).

    Drain on crumbled paper; serve plain or with toast with white sauce.
