- 1 lb. round steak, cut in 1/4-inch strips
- oil
- 1 lb. onions, sliced
- 1/3 c. soy sauce
- water
- 1 to 2 c. sliced celery
- cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 can mushrooms
Directions

1Cook steak in small amount of oil until slightly browned.

2Add onions, cook until transparent.

3Add soy sauce, sugar and 2 cups water.

4Cook until meat is tender, 1 1/2 to 2 hours, adding water as necessary.

5Add mushrooms and celery.

6Cook for 15 minutes longer and thicken with desired amount of cornstarch mixed with water.

7Serve on rice.
