- 6 oz pitted dates, roughly chopped
- 8 oz candied cherries, halved
- 6 oz toasted almonds
- 4 oz dark chocolate, roughly chopped
- 1 tbsp mixed spices
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 None orange, finely zested
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- None None powdered sugar, for dusting

1Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease and line base and sides of an 8-inch springform pan. In a bowl, combine dates, cherries, almonds, chocolate, spices and orange zest.

2In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, honey and butter. Heat on medium, stirring, until butter starts to melt. Do not stir again. Bring to a boil and cook 3-5 mins, until a little of the mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball when moulded between fingers. Working quickly, pour into bowl with nut mixture and mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Smooth top with a spatula. Bake 10-15 mins. Cool.

3If mixture does not set, chill in fridge. Dust with powdered sugar, cut into wedges and serve with coffee.
