- 2 c. Quaker oats, uncooked
- 1 c. plain flour
- 3/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
- 1/3 c. brown sugar (packed)
- 1/3 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1 (10 to 12 oz.) jar favorite fruit preserves
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease 11 x 7-inch glass baking dish. Combine all ingredients, except preserves.

3Mix well.

4Reserve 3/4 cup oats mixture, press remaining mixture into bottom of prepared dish.

5Bake 10 minutes.

6Spread preserves evenly over partially baked base to within 1/2-inch edge of pan.

7Sprinkle with reserved oats mixture.

8Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.
