  • 1 lb. candied fruit
  • 1 c. each light and dark raisins
  • 1/2 c. dates
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c. soft margarine
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 c. wine
  • 1/4 c. applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/4 tsp. each allspice and cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. flour

    Sprinkle 1/2 cup flour over nuts and fruit and set aside.

    Mix sugars, margarine and cream.

    Add eggs and mix.

    Add wine and applesauce and mix.

    Add flour and spices.

    Mix and then add nuts and fruit.

    Bake at 275° for about 1 hour or so.

    Grease and flour bread pan.
