  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. dates
  • 1/2 c. figs
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 5 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. candied fruit
  • 1 1/2 c. gum drops
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda

    Sift flour, spices, salt and soda 3 times and add to cooled mixture. Stir in nuts, gumdrops and candied fruit.
