Fruit Filled Spice Bars

  • 1 pkg. gingerbread mix
  • 1 can applesauce
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped dried apricots
  • 1/2 c. dried prunes, chopped
  • 1 pkg. white frosting mix
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

    Combine gingerbread mix, applesauce and water. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Fold in fruit. Spread on a greased and floured 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool. Frost with the white frosting prepared by package directions, substituting lemon juice for the water. Cut into bars.
