- 1 c. butter, softened
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs or 3 extra large
- 3 c. flour (1 1/2 white, 1 1/2 whole wheat)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. water
- fruit of choice, thickened as for pie
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Add eggs and mix well.

3Add remaining ingredients, except fruit, and mix to combine.

4In a buttered (greased) 9 x 13-inch pan, spread 1/2 the batter, then spread fruit and spread remaining batter on top.

5Cut through a few times only with a butter knife to swirl (fruit).

6Bake at 375° for 30 to 40 minutes.
