Ingredients

  • 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. evaporated milk
  • 8 marshmallows, diced
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips or 1/4 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

    Combine sugar, evaporated milk, diced marshmallows and margarine in a heavy saucepan.

    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.

    Continue boiling for 4 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Do not let mixture scorch.

    Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and vanilla.

    Beat until well blended and mixture begins to thicken.

    Pour into buttered loaf pan. Chill until firm and cut into squares.
