- 2 1/4 c. plain flour
- 1 c. cocoa
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. soft, unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. water
Directions

1Use a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan (oiled).

2Sift together on waxed paper the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.

3Beat until light and fluffy (3 minutes) the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Along with flour mixture, add the water.

4Beat all until smooth; spread evenly in pan.

5Bake

6at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

7Cool completely.

8Frost with chocolate icing.

9Cut into 24 pieces.
