- 9 inches unbaked pie shells
- 13 cup butter or 13 cup margarine
- 13 cup cocoa
- 23 cup sugar
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 34 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup pecans, Chopped (optional)
- 1 cup pecan halves
Directions

1Heat oven to 375F

2Melt butter over low heat; add cocoa and stir until smooth.

3Remove from heat; cool slightly.

4Stir in sugar, salt, eggs and corn syrup.

5Blend thoroughly.

6Stir in chopped nuts, if desired.

7Pour into unbaked pie shell.

8Place pecan halves over top.

9Bake for 40 minutes.

10Cool.

11Let stand 8 hours before serving.

12Garnish with sweetened whipped whipping cream or whipped topping.
