Ingredients

  • 1 cup bulgur wheat or 1 cup bulgur
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • 12 cup pecans, chopped
  • 12 cup raisins
  • 12 cup dried fig, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 12 lemon, juice of
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Cook bulgur or wheat kernels until soft-usually 2 cups of water to 1 cup of grain is sufficient.

    Saute onions until translucent, add mushrooms and saute 2 minutes more.

    Add thyme and cinnamon.

    Mix onion and mushroom mixture together with bulgur or wheat.

    Add pecans, raisins, figs and lemon zest.

    Season with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
