  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 lb. German chocolate bar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Cream sugar, butter and egg yellows.

    Add melted chocolate. Mix soda in milk.

    Then add milk and flour.

    Beat well.

    Add vanilla, salt and egg whites.

    Pour into three 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350° until done.
