German Chocolate Pie

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 14 oz. pkg. German sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Melt chocolate with margarine in small pan.

    Remove from heat and add milk.

    Separately combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

    Gradually add to chocolate mixture. Stir in coconut and pecans.

    Pour into pie shell.

    Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.

    Cool for several hours.
