- 4 Bosc pears
- 2 c. apple juice
- 1/2 c. red wine
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger or 1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
Directions

1Peel and quarter pears; remove cores.

2Combine apple juice, red wine and ginger in medium saucepan.

3Place pears in poaching liquid.

4Bring to boil; reduce to simmer and cover.

5Cook about 15 minutes or until pears are tender.

6Remove pears and set aside. Continue to cook, poaching liquid until thickened slightly to form a thin sauce (about 10 minutes).

7Return pears to sauce, turning to coat thoroughly.

8Place in serving dishes, spooning the sauce over the pears.
