- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 c. butter or shortening
- 1/2 c. sifted brown sugar
- 3/4 c. molasses
- 2 eggs, beaten well
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Combine eggs, sugar, shortening and molasses.

2Sift flour; measure and sift with baking soda, salt and spices.

3Add alternately with water to first mixture.

4Beat until well blended. Bake in greased pan at 375° for about 40 to 45 minutes.
