Ingredients

  • 300 g self raising flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 50 g margarine
  • 3 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • currants
  • glace cherries

Directions

    Heat oven to Gas mark 3.

    Place flour, salt and ginger in a suitable mixing bowl.

    Warm sugar, fat and syrup together and add to the dry ingredients, mix well.

    Add milk and mix to a firm consistency, Knead lightly with hands.

    Roll out and cut out with a ginger bread man cutter.

    Place on a GREASED!

    baking tray.

    Mark the eyes with currants and put some down the body to pose as buttons.

    Bake for 10-15 minutes.
