- 4 3/4 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. ginger
- 4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. molasses
Directions

1Measure and sift together the first 5 ingredients; set aside. Cream together the shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs and molasses. Stir in dry ingredients; blend well.

3Form teaspoon size dough balls by rolling lightly between palms of hands.

4Roll dough in granulated sugar to cover surface.

5Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

6Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes, or until tops are slightly rounded, crackly and lightly browned.
