  • 1 bottle Port or Muscatel wine
  • 1 bottle sherry or Claret
  • 1/2 bottle whiskey or brandy
  • 4 cloves
  • 8 whole cardamom seed
  • 1/2 c. almonds, blanched and shredded
  • 1 to 2 c. seedless raisins
  • 1 can candied orange peel
  • 2 pieces cinnamon bark
  • 1/2 to 1 c. lump sugar

    The foundation of the glogg can be made several days ahead.

    Place the whole cloves, whole cardamom seed, coarsely shredded almonds, raisins, orange peel and cinnamon in a kettle with enough wine to cover (any kind); bring to a boil.

    Pour this into a jar; cover and store until your party.
