- 3/4 c. butter
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. flavoring (lemon)
- 8 egg yolks
- 2 1/2 c. cake flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Cream butter until light and fluffy.

2Add the sugar gradually and continue creaming.

3Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.

4Add to the butter and sugar mixture.

5Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.

6Add them alternately with milk. Add flavoring and beat well.

7Bake in 2 (9-inch) layers at 350° for 35 minutes, 1 loaf pan at 325° for 60 to 65 minutes or 22 to 24 cupcakes at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.

8Can also bake in angel food pan.
