  • 5 lb chicken thighs bone in skin on.
  • 1 1/2 pints chardonnay I used Woodbridge
  • 1/3 cup ground turmeric
  • 1/4 cup saffron flowers
  • 1/4 cup onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin

Directions

    Mix all the ingredients together very well.

    Put in an airtight container.

    Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 2 days.

    After two day take the chicken out of marinade, reserve the marinade.

    Take a pan spray with nonstick.

    Put chicken in pan and sear on each side adding some color to the chicken.

    Remove to a plate.

    Add the marinade to the pan bring to boil.

    Let boil 7 minutes.

    Add chicken back into pan with the marinade.

    Let simmer covered for 25 minutes stirring occasionally.

    It will thicken a bit.

    Use the liquids as a gravy or sauce.
