Golden Lasagna

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 oz. can mushrooms
  • 1/4 c. chopped pimiento
  • 10 3/4 oz. can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
  • 8 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 1 1/2 c. creamed style cottage cheese
  • 3 c. cubed, cooked chicken
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Saute onion and green pepper in melted butter in a 2-quart saucepan until tender (do not brown).

    Stir in drained mushrooms, pimiento, soup, milk and basil.

    Heat well.

    Arrange 1/2 of noodles (cooked and drained) in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish, then layer in 1/2 of Cheddar cheese and 1/2 of the Parmesan cheese.

    Repeat layers.

    Bake in 350° oven for 45 minutes or until hot.
