- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. raisins and chopped nuts
Directions

1Mix first 3 ingredients with mixer.

2Stir in rest (except raisins and nuts).

3Mix well, then add raisins and nuts.

4Spread out on ungreased 11 x 17-inch pan with fingers.

5Sprinkle with sugar.

6Bake at 375° for 9 minutes.

7Cut into squares when cool. (Great comfort food!)
