Granny's Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 pan of southern cornbread (not the Yankee sweet stuff)
  • 2 biscuits
  • 3 slices of stale white bread
  • 1 lg. carton chicken
  • turkey stock
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 onion, chopped fine
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped fine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbl. dried sage
  • 1/2 can oysters (optional)

Directions

    Crumble up the stale cornbread and biscuits or bread into a large bowl.

    Add the remaining ingredients and stir well.

    Bake at 350 degrees for thirty minutes in a greased 9x12 baking pan until the top is brown.
