Name: Great Pecan Cake
Ingredients: 4 eggs; 2 c. sugar; 1 c. shortening (butter, margarine, lard or hydrogenated fat); 3 c. flour; 1 tsp. baking powder; 1 tsp. soda; 1 tsp. ground cinnamon; 1 c. ground cloves; 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk; 2 c. chopped or ground pecans

1 c. shortening (butter, margarine, lard or hydrogenated fat)
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. ground cloves
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
2 c. chopped or ground pecans

Directions

Beat eggs; add sugar and shortening and add dry ingredients and milk alternately.

Beat with an electric beater.

Add pecans. Bake in a greased tube pan at 350° for one hour.
