Green Bean Salad

  • 1 can green beans
  • 1 can English peas
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 2 to 3 small onions
  • 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 small jar pimento
  • 4 stalks celery (1 1/2 c.)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Drain beans and peas.

    Add chopped pimento, bell pepper, celery and onions.

    Heat sugar and vinegar until sugar dissolves.

    Let cool.

    Add salt and Wesson oil.

    Pour over vegetables. Let marinate for 24 hours.

    Drain before serving, if desired.

    Keeps for several days.
