- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 well beaten egg
- 3 Tbsp. melted shortening
- about 1 1/4 c. milk
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

2Combine egg, milk and melted shortening (slightly cooled).

3Amount of milk to use will depend upon thickness of pancakes desired.

4Three-fourths cup of milk will give thick cake, 1 1/4 cups milk will give thin cake. Pour into flour mixture and stir just enough to moisten the dry ingredients.

5After mixing ingredients, bake on hot griddle. Makes 1 to 1 1/2 dozen cakes.
