Ingredients

  • 2 cups Stone Ground Grits
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cans Sliced Mushrooms
  • 1 cup Grated Sharp Cheese, Divided
  • Paprika, For Sprinkling On Top

Directions

    Cook grits in salt water until thick. Pour into a large mixing bowl. Add all remaining ingredients, reserving enough cheese to cover the top. Mix throughly. Pour into a baking dish, then top with reserved cheese. Sprinkle with paprika.

    Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F.

    You can add bacon, ham, onion, or peppers- pretty much anything you can think of before you bake it.
