  • 2 lb. gumdrops, cut in pieces (no black ones)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. applesauce (sweetened)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. hot water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. all-purpose flour

Directions

    Dredge gumdrops, raisins and nut meats in 2 cups flour.

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add 2 cups flour, seasonings, eggs and soda. Bake at 350° for 2 hours in angel food cake pan or 1 hour in two small pans.
