  • pastry for 2 crust pie (preferably a cheese crust)
  • 4 c. thinly sliced baked ham
  • 3 to 4 sliced, hard-boiled eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. ground pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 c. thickly sliced, peeled and cored apples
  • 1 tsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 4 Tbsp. cream

Directions

    Line 10-inch pie plate with crust.

    Arrange half of ham, apples and hard-boiled egg in layer.

    Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon flour and pinch each of cloves and pepper.

    Dot with 1 tablespoon of butter.

    Repeat with remaining apples, ham, egg, sugar, flour and spices.
