- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped fine
- 4 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Crumble ground beef into a heavy skillet.

2Brown over medium heat until rich brown in color.

3Add the minced onion and continue to brown until the onion is transparent.

4Add the diced potatoes, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.

5Add just enough water to barely cover the ingredients.

6Simmer gently until the potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes).

7Don't hurry the simmering for the slow cooking is what gives it a delicious flavor.

8Make a paste of two tablespoons of flour and 1/2 cup of water.

9When the potatoes are tender, add the flour and water mixture.

10Stir until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble again.

11Serve with hot buttered toast or biscuits.
