- 1/2 c. + 2 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped hazelnuts
- 1/2 c. sugar, divided
- 6 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2In large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.

3Stir in hazelnuts and cook 5 to 8 minutes or until dark.

4Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons sugar.

5Cool.

6Cream remaining butter and sugars in large bowl until fluffy.

7Beat in egg and vanilla.

8Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.

9Fold in nuts. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet.

10Bake about 8 minutes or until edges are brown.
